Cancellation of the 2020 Spring League – Q & A

 Q. How do I confirm my mailing address on my account is correct?

  1.  Log into your Stack Sport Account (LOGIN)
  2. Go to your Member Account Home Page
  3. Under the Member Profile Click on Edit Member Information
  4. Update the mailing address for the Child and for Parent/ Guardian 1
  5. Click Save Changes

 Q. How will I receive my refund?

 A. Refunds will be issued by cheques that will be mailed to our members

 Q. When will I receive my refund?

           A. Our members will receive their refunds by the end of April 2020

 Q. Do I need to contact TCYBA in order to receive my refund?

 A. No, TCYBA will automatically be issuing the refunds to all registrants for both our JR NBA Leagues (Kindergarten to Grade 12) and for our Spring Elite Teams

 Q. Will the Cancellation of the Spring League affect the registration for the Fall-Winter 2020/21 Division?

 A. No, we will run the registration for the Fall League as if the Spring League did go ahead and  the registration phases that are outlined in the drop down menu for Fall/ Winter JR NBA will still be in effect.

If you were a New Player and confirmed to a team as of March 25th, 2020 you will be eligible to register as a Returning Spring Player in Phase 2.

  • Fall/ Winter League Jr. NBA (Grade 2 to 12)

    Tri-City Youth Basketball Development League Fall/Winter 2020/21 Registration

    PHASE 1: June 1st to June 7th

    Returning Players registering to their same team from Fall/ Winter 2019-20.  

    Players wishing to change teams or who played Spring only, will be required to register during Phase 2.

    PHASE 2: June 9th to June 14th

    Returning Players from Fall/ Winter 2019-20 and Spring 2020 may register to any team with available space

    If your child is new to TCYBA or did not play in the Fall/ Winter 2019-20 or Spring 2020 season please do not register during this phase of registration, they can register beginning June 16th.

    PHASE 3: June 16th - Ongoing to September

    Phase 3 is available for New Players and returning players that did not register during phase 1 or 2.

    New players to TCYBA must register in the division where the grade they are entering in September is the higher grade listed in the team description – for example a new Grade 5 player to TCYBA must register at the Grade 4/5 level. Grade 4’s registering at the Grade 4/5 level must already have played at least one season in TCYBA and be physically ready to play with others that are their age and older.

    The same eligibility process applies to all age groups.

  • Spring League Jr. NBA (Grade 2 to 12)

    TCYBA 2020 Spring Development League Practices will begin the week of April 5th, 2020. REGISTRATION IS OPEN NOW for ALL PLAYERS

    Please see below for the dates of the various registration phases – Registration will open at 6am on the first day of each phase.

    PHASE 1: February 7th to February 11th

    Players from Spring 2019 may register in Phase 3 starting February 20th. New Players many register starting February 28th

    PHASE 3: February 20th to February 26th 

    Returning Players from Spring 2019 may register to any team with available space

    If you did not play in Spring 2019 or Fall/ Winter 2019/20 you may begin registering on February 28th

    New Player Registration: February 28th - Ongoing to April

It is strictly to let you know that we have received your request and it will detail the team information that you have requested to be on. NO REGISTRATION IS CONFIRMED UNTIL YOU RECEIVE A SECOND E-MAIL FROM STACK SPORTS confirming your registration.

     


  • Jr. NBA Rookie Division (Kindergarten to Grade 2)

    Spring 2020 Jr. NBA Rookie Division (Kindergarten to Grade 2) – Registration begins February 7th!

    Registration for the Spring 2020 session of our Jr. NBA Rookie Division starts February 7th! To read more about this fantastic program click here.

    Who: For players in Kindergarten to Grade Two

    Program Duration: 8-week program running from the week of April 6th until June 4th 

    There are 4 different registration periods depending on whether your child has played in Fall 2019 or is currently playing in the Winter 2020 Jr. NBA Rookie Division. Please read the following to determine the appropriate phase for you:

    Phase One - February 7th to February 11th Early registration for players currently in the Winter Program registering back to the SAME team they are currently registered to.

    • Note: Spaces will only be held for players wishing to continue with their current team until Midnight February 11th
    • Note: If the Winter Team is not continuing for the Spring Session the players will need to register starting February 13th

    Phase Two - February 13th to February 18th   Players currently in the Winter Session may register to any team that has available space.

    Phase Three - February 20th to February 26th   Returning Players from Fall 2019 or Spring 2019 (that is not currently playing in Winter 2020) may register to any team with available space

    If you did not previously play with TCYBA you may begin registering on February 28th

    New Player Registration: February 28th 

    Registration Fees:

    • Returning Players $70 from Fall 2019 or Winter 2020 (they will not be issued a new T-Shirt & Ball)
    • New Players $100

    Cancellation Policy:  

    • Cancel by March 15th  and you will be refunded the fee, less a $25 admin fee
    • Cancel between March 16th and March 28th :   50% Refund
    • After March 28th, 2020 the fees are Non-Refundable
  • Camps and Academies

    Tri-City Youth Basketball 2020 Spring Break Camps

    The Tri-City Youth Basketball Association will be hosting its annual Spring Break Basketball Camps from March 16th – 20th.  Camps are designed for players looking to develop their athleticism and improve their offensive skills.  The camps will focus on passing, shooting, ball handling, footwork, decision making and understanding of the game.

    Here is a list of camps available for registration:

    • Grades 5, 6, 7 & 8 (Girls Only): March 16th-20th (8:45 am – 10:30 am) - $100.00
    • Grades 4/5/6 (Boys Only): March 16th-20th (10:30 am – 12:30 pm) - $110.00
    • Grades 7/8 (Boys Only): March 16th-20th (12:45 pm – 2:45 pm) - $110.00

     All camps will take place at Moody Middle School located at 130 Buller St, Port Moody, BC V3H 2C6

    Tri-City Youth Basketball Winter Academy

    Tri-City Youth Basketball Association is pleased to announce the return of its extremely popular Skill Development Performance Academy for Winter 2020

    These sessions are for players of all levels that want to develop and enhance their individual ability, focusing on:

    • Footwork
    • Shot Preparation
    • Shooting Mechanics
    • Ball Handling
    • Passing
    • Decision Making

    Interested players, especially those at the grade 5/6 level, do not need to have a great deal of experience to take part

    Head Coaches for TCYBA’s academy programs are Anthony Luyken and Joe Enevoldson. Anthony and Joe have both served as Canada Basketball / BBC Centre for Performance and served as Basketball BC Provincial Team coaches in the past.

    Additional assistant coaches may be taking part in the academy sessions to ensure that an appropriate coach to player ratio is maintained. 

    The most important factor in participating in the Academy program is to simply be dedicated to improvement and committed to attend the scheduled sessions.

TCYBA Refund Policy


Fall/ Winter 2019-20 season  

  •  Registration Opening to August 31 - Regular league fee less $25 administration fee   
  •  September 1 to 15 - 50% reimbursement of regular league fee  
  • After September 15 - NO REFUND 

Spring 2020 season 

  • Registration Opening until March 15 - Regular League fee less a $25 administration fee 
  • March 16 to 28 - 50% reimbursement of regular league fee 
  • As of March 29 - NO REFUND 

Please note that while the TCYBA has written contracts confirming access to the facilities that are used for association training sessions, practices and games, due to unforeseen or extraordinary circumstances the facility provider can withdraw access to those facilities with or without notice to the association. In those cases, replacement sessions may not be possible and refunds will not be provided.

*Parents/players may apply for a full refund of registration fees, citing extraordinary circumstances. Such requests must be made in writing to the Board of Directors by emailing the Executive Director. The Board will consider such requests on an individual basis.

 A full refund of regular registration fees will be provided where a player chooses to withdraw due to a change in practice time/location initiated by the league. Such refunds will not be assessed an administration fee. 

PLEASE NOTE – All registration transactions are subject to transaction and credit card processing fees charged by credit card companies and the vendors accepting payment using them.  Transaction fees are collected and retained by those vendors for processing your registration and are not paid to or retained by the TCYBA and as such cannot be refunded by the TCYBA in situations that fall outside of the refund policies outlined above. In extraordinary situations where mass refunds must be issued by the TCYBA, a nominal administration fee may be applied to all refunds.

*GRADE 9/10 BOYS & GRADE 11/12 BOYS TEAMS WILL PLAY GAMES ON SATURDAYS. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED FOR SCHEDULE CONFLICTS WITH TCYBA GAMES.

SERVING TRI-CITY YOUTH SINCE 1999

The Tri-City Youth Basketball Association (TCYBA) was formed in 1999 and is a registered, volunteer-driven, not-for-profit that serves the youth of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody (Tri-Cities) and surrounding areas in British Columbia, Canada. Currently we have well over 2000 players, from Kindergarten to grade 12, playing in various divisions including both competetive and recreational play. Open to both boys and girls, the club operates out of school gyms across the Tri-City area and strives to ensure all youth that want to enjoy the sport have an opportunity to participate
