Andrew Teel - Recipient of the 2020 Courage to Come Back Awards

Posted on: September 01, 2020

The Tri-City Youth Basketball Association would like to congratulate Andrew Teel as the recipient of the 2020 Courage to Come Back Awards - Youth Category.

Since Grade 3, Andrew has played basketball with the TCYBA on long-time Tri-City coach Steve Ashley’s team. Playing basketball has helped Andrew overcome a difficult start to his life in the foster care system, and a diagnosis of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome which affect his cognitive abilities. At 18 years, Andrew has already become a formidable force for good, and a role model for others through his determination to overcome adversity and give back.

Congratulations on your award, Andrew. TCYBA is proud of what you have already accomplished!

Please consider a donation to Andrew’s charity, Twoonies for Teens to support vulnerable youth
