Coaching a Development Team
TCYBA is always looking for more volunteers to help coach teams. Whether you’ve played basketball before and want to coach a team, or you’re keen to learn the game and want to help out as an assistant coach, we’d love to hear from you. Head coaches must have graduated high school but students are always welcome as assistant coaches.
Our development teams are segmented as: Juniors (Grades 2–5), Senior (Grades 6–8) and Recreational (Grades 9–12).
TCYBA endeavours to have a solid system for developing coaches, which in turn will help develop our players on a more even level. We understand that everyone has busy schedules and can’t always attend coaching clinics, so we’ll be bringing the clinics to you. Starting in the Grade 2/3 and 3/4 levels we’ll be pairing teams together at the beginning of the season and providing experienced coaches to help run the sessions.
If you are interested in coaching a please email the League Coordinator.
Coaching an Elite Team
The TCYBA Elite Team Program offers a more competitive program for our U12, U13 and U14 girls and boys. More practice time and weekend games, some that require travel, are offered. Elite teams require players to try out for a position and Elite Team Coaches make the final decisions on the roster.
If you are interested in putting your name forward for consideration as a Coach in the Elite program please email the League Coordinator by early May with the following information:
