SPRING 2026 ACADEMY SESSIONS

The Tri-City Youth Basketball Association is excited to announce that registration is now open for our Spring 2026 Academy Sessions.



These sessions are designed to help players develop key game skills in a fun,

competitive, and supportive environment.


Competition & Decision Making Skill Enhancement will focus on:

- Scoring and finishing techniques

- In-game decision-making

- Competitive drills that replicate real game situations

- Small-sided games that build confidence and awareness on the court


Skill Development will focus on:

- Footwork

- Shot Preparation

- Shooting Mechanics

- Ball Handling

- Passing

- Decision Making

- Attacking the Basket & Finishing


Our experienced coaches bring a strong background in elite youth and high school basketball, ensuring high-quality instruction for all participants.


No advanced experience is required—our main goal is to support players who are eager to improve and committed to attending sessions consistently.


Important Notes:

- Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged

- Players must bring their own basketball and water bottle


We look forward to helping young athletes grow their skills and love for the game this spring.

The Tri-City Youth Basketball Association (TCYBA) was formed in 1999 and is a volunteer-driven registered not-for-profit that serves the youth of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody (Tri-Cities), New Westminster, Burnaby and surrounding areas in British Columbia, Canada. Currently, we have well over 2000 players, from Kindergarten to grade 12, playing in various divisions including both competitive Elite programs and recreational play. We offer academies, camps, official's development paths and coaching clinics in partnership with various local, provincial and national partners. Open to both boys and girls, the club operates out-of-school gyms across the Tri-City area and strives to ensure all youth that want to enjoy the sport have an opportunity to participate. We believe that youth sport is critical to a child's development and the opportunity to build skills for both the sport and for life should be available to all of our community's youth.
